Spouses of Diabetics

Life With A Spouse:
AnnaQ - Wife of Jack, 39, type-1 since 1978. Jack is a pumper. Anna speaks 4 languages (3 of them badly), is a Competent Toastmasters, and hates wearing high heels. Jack speaks 4 languages (2 of them badly), never has enough socks and underwear, and is addicted to fishing. When there is a cure for diabetes, Anna plans to nag Jack to go get it. Anna saw that there was a lack of blogs of diabetics spouses, and is helping to fill the void.

Surviving God's Woodshed:
Larry, 60, Indiana, husband to Lea, diagnosed on March 26, 2007. Lea uses Lantus and Humalog. Larry is a professional writer, husband of a diabetic, and full-time caregiver. Lea miraculously survived necrotizing pancreatitis in 2005, still undergoing surgeries to complete her recovery, and is a terific wife, mother and grandmother. Larry started the blog to share the Hartford Letters, detailing PWD's daily experience with pancreatitis, and to keep her hundreds (perhaps thousands) of well-wishers informed of her progress. When there is a cure, Larry and Lea will celebrate and thank God.

Wife of a Diabetic:
Diabeteswife - Wife of a Type 2 diabetic since 1980. Spouse is on 2 shots a day. They live in the Rocky Mountains. Diabeteswife is retired, loves to travel and to dance. Her husband is loving, generous and fun. Diabeteswife wanted to start this blog to relieve stress and frustration over this disease, prevent yet another divorce caused by this disease, and to let wives know they are not alone. When there is a cure, Diabeteswife wants to go backpacking around Europe one more time!
