Diabetes Professionals

Close Concerns Weblog:
This weblog writes about lots of things going on in the diabetes world, especially related to new diabetes products and research. It is written by a team of people at Close Concerns, a healthcare advisory firm focused exclusively on diabetes - Kelly Close, Dana Lewis, and Kaku Armah provide most of the content, which is supplemented by others at Close Concerns including John Close, Jim Hirsch, and Melissa Tjota. All of us either have diabetes or have a family member with diabetes.

DiabeTeens.com:
Diabeteens is the site for kids, parents and teenagers with Type 1 Diabetes to share their stories, learn how to better manage their day-to-day life around diabetes, and ask questions about life with the disease...because this Type-1 thing ain't easy!

Diabetes.Blog.Com:
Dr. Bill Quick- now known as "Bill the Diabetes Doc," as he, an endo, was diagnosed with diabetes in September. Shares his personal experience as well as his depth of knowledge as a practicing endocrinologist.

DiabetesFriends.net is free social network for diabetics or people with an interest in diabetes.

Diabetes Self-Management:
The editors of Diabetes Self-Management have relaunched their website in August 2006 and have included a blog about diabetes. The Diabetes Self-Management Blog offers insights from people with diabetes and tips from health-care
professionals. It is written by two health-care professionals (Amy Campbell, a dietician and diabetes educator, and Joe Nelson, a psychotherapist), two people
with diabetes (Jan Chait with Type 2 and Andy Stuckey with Type 1), and the web editor of Diabetes Self-Management, Katharine Davis, who writes about diabetes and health news.

Easy Diabetes Recipes Blog:
Grew up in a small farm town. Moved to the big city to go to school and moved back to a small farm town. Found a passion for healthy eating and ways to feed our bodies to prevent illness. Have had a long line of diabetes in my family. I have become the chef of the house!

Endo-Blog:
Dr. T. Steven Roosevelt- a endocrinologist in Boise, Idaho. Writes about the latest news in diabetes research and technology and shares his opinions

Alli is the current producer for MyDiabetesCentral.com. A 2005 graduate of Susquehanna University, Alli began her editorial career in Washington, DC, at the Dana Press, the non-profit publishing arm of the Dana Foundation. Here, she entered the health and science sphere writing back-of-the-book copy for trade pubs in the fields of neuroscience and immunology under the direction of famed columnist, William Safire. She received her Master’s in Publishing from the George Washington University in fall 2007, and has since been working as site producer for several condition-specific verticals part of the HealthCentral Network (www.healthcentral.com). She currently resides in Arlington, VA.

Side by Side:
Barbara Walz, Sharlene Emerson and Molly Rodriguez are all certified diabetes educators. Molly has type 2 diabetes. They started the blog as a part of the Side by Side education program from the AADE to help people with diabetes better manage their self-care through a partner approach. The blog is designed to show people that proper self-care does not mean going it alone.
